Not Worth The Risk

First off I didn't purchase this ammo at LuckyGunner, I bought it at my local gunshop. But I wanted to review it here so I could reach as many folks as I could... While shooting TulAmmo through my Ruger Gunsite Scout, the first 5 rounds or so went fine. Round 6 almost froze my bolt shut but I was able to eject the round and (stupidly) racked another one home. I knew something read more had gone wrong instantly as I felt hot gas and powder on my cheeks (thank goodness I was wearing safety glasses!). This time I was unable to open my bolt. I took out my magazine, put my gun back in the case and took it to my local gun shop. At the shop we were finally able to open the bolt, only to have the base of the steel case fall out of the gun, leaving the rest in the chamber. Great... After sending the rifle to a local gunsmith (who broke his broken shell extractor attempting to remove it!) I asked that the gun be sent back to the factory for further evaluation and repair. I just got word today that my rifle will need to be factory re-barreled. The barrel is trash due to this ammo. One thing I will say about TulAmmo is that their customer service, upon receiving my call the day of the incident, instantly offered to reimburse me for the repair or for a replacement rifle, should that become necessary. Run this ammo at your own risk!

keep looking. not worth the "savings"

I grabbed a few boxes of this brand for my Savage Scout so my older son could do some shooting. first 10 round mag went through without a hitch, but then a few shots into the second mag and there is a weird detonation and my son (whos 23 and no stranger to shooting) sets the rifle down and has a burned left hand! seems one of the rounds fully read more disintegrated! during further inspection (after some first aid for his burn) shows a expansion jammed case in the barrel and a primer end loose in the receiver! It took a few trips to a few gun smiths to figure out how to remove the stuck casing - being steel, it dosent react the same as brass to removal tools, so I had to get my own case remover, and freeze the case with computer cleaner (the compressed canned gas) so the casing would contract enough to be removed without real smithing involvement. So, does it go bang? yes. Is there value, sure, I guess. Is it worth the poor quality and possible damage to your firearm or yourself (or someone else, as in my case)? HELL NO!!! just leave this commie garbage where it belongs...in Mother Russia!

Would not reccomend

I bought this ammo some time ago to take out my employees for a range day. Less than 300 rounds fired through a clean M1a socom 16 there were 5 stove pipes & had to literally "KICK" open the receiver to eject the casing on 6 others. I cleaned the rifle after 150 rounds thinking I missed something but still had the same issue. Upon closer inspection all the rounds had some type of read more crud on the casings and had to stop shooting because a case got stuck & had to pound out with a rod not to mention when loading a mag I noticed one of the rounds neck was half gone! I literally pulled out the bullet by hand! I stick with the brass rounds from PMC for plinking now. This was my experience but there are plenty of reviews that say this is ok ammo. You get what you pay for. I have plenty of this ammo left over that I refuse to shoot. Not worth the hassle. Performance-2 stars because it shoots. Value-3 stars because it is affordable. Quality-1 star because lets just say my M1a is "junk" haha and we take the miss fires and stuck casings out of the subject YOU SHOULD NEVER RECEIVE A CARTRIDGE OF ANY TYPE WITH HALF THE NECK GONE!! POOR QC

Do not buy this brand

I purchased Tul Ammo in both 308 and 223 for my two rifles because it was cheap and I only wanted it for target range shooting. It was the worst purchase I ever made. The first time shooting and only after four shoots a shell stuck in my Savage rifle jamming the bolt action lever close. I had to take the gun to a gunsmith to remove the shell and unjam the bolt lever. Also note I read more know two other people which Tul Ammo shells jammed into their barrels after a few shots. Don't use this product.

This ammo is great to site your scope in with, without having to pay a lot off money to do so. It is also great to get out and shoot just for fun.

Good Cheap Ammo.

Cant beat it for the price. I have fired 60 rounds of this ammo so far out of my C93 Sporter which is notorious for being very picky with ammo and i have not had 1 misfire or non eject with this ammo when i have with way more expensive ammo. so good deal. also the shipping was super fast and had great communication from LG my order was messed up and they forgot to send me a box read more i ordered but they fixed it without any arguments so i was not going to use them again but decided to give them another chance it is a good site. thanks alot heidi.

Good for paper

Purchased 500 rounds (.308) from Lucky Gunner (You guys and gals are awesome). I've been through six 20 round boxes of this stuff and for range messing around it's o.k. Thus far I have had 4 rounds where the primer didn't ignite. As for accuracy anything under 100 yards is decent with a 4 inch group or better. Weapon used is AR-10T/Leopold Mk-4

Not Exact what they say!!!

This ammo is good for plinking only. They advertise 2800 fps, but the 300 rounds that I have fire avg. 2580 fps. Also after firing 15 boxes of this ammo I had 15 rounds, avg 1 round per box, that had the primer seated to deep and would not fire. It not any dirtier than Wolf ammo. I guess you get what you pay for, don't look for consistency in this ammo. Muzzle speed will vary read more approx 100 fps within a single box.
