Rifle Ammos Descriptions
9mm - 115 Grain FMJ - Blazer Brass Training - 50 Rounds
You can tell from this 9mm ammo’s decidedly utilitarian packaging that it was either (A) made in such vast quantities that Blazer didn’t have enough colorful boxes to hold it all, or (B) made specifically for law enforcement officers who don’t give a fig about pretty graphics while they’re training. Either way this is Blazer’s usual solid, consistent Brass label ammo, preferred by countless shooters for the important task of ensuring that America is not overrun by paper targets. This round ends in a 115 grain full metal jacket projectile: simple, accurate, and non-expanding. The bullet’s jacket fortifies it against catching in a feeding mechanism or deforming under the stress of ignition, and also lets it leave less lead residue behind in a firearm’s barrel. Blazer’s FMJ is extra nice because its base is protected by its jacket. This prohibits hot propellant gasses from cooking and evaporating the bullet’s lead core, promoting a healthier training environment – particularly indoors, where the ventilation ain’t so good. No surprises here: Brass label ammo features new production brass cases, which shooters like for their tendency to keep an action cleaner than aluminum could have, as well as their suppleness which permits handloading. Blazer uses CCI’s Boxer primers, which are sensitive and non-corrosive, and loads consistent charges of propellant to promote steady muzzle velocities. This round’s 1,145 fps muzzle velocity was recorded out of a 4†barrel, same length as a Glock 19 or Walther PPQ M2.
45 ACP - 230 Grain TMJ - Speer LAWMAN - 50 Rounds
Speer® brought sport shooters and law enforcement the excellence of Lawman over 35 years ago. Back in 1968, the line included various calibers of centerfire handgun ammunition, and quickly earned a reputation as a high-performance and reliable product. Lawman is attractively priced, and the cases are reloadable with clean-burning propellants and reliable CCI primers to complete the package. Total metal jacket (TMJ) is different from full metal jacket (FMJ) due to TMJ bullets having no exposed lead bases, this makes TMJ bullets better suited for firing in indoor ranges since there will be fewer lead particulates floating in the air after firing .
